No.1670

lately been on a card game stint, and was wondering what kinds of mechanics would be viable for using in a lojban card game. any ideas?

>> No.1671

scrabble would be too easy, given that the morphology and lexicon are so easliy defined (on the other hand, this removes the frustration of natlang scrabble...).
mao could be a good game? or translating any games terminology into lojban?
as far as things which are specifically lojbo, i can't think of any.

I was thinking about something along the lines of rummy, but the 'runs' would be legal lojban valsi, so the cards would be vowels, consonants, and a sprinkling of y'y and the like. I wonder if including consonant pairs would be a good idea.

Well, there's vlalikei, which is the word-chain-game. Players say one word after the other, trying to make up the most complex, but meaningful sentences, trying to trip up other players. There's a channel for it on freenode #vlalinkei.
