Can "noi" come right after "la'oi", before the dot?

E.g. la'oi noi selmlatu .Scottish Fold.

>> No.881

I don't have an answer for you, because I don't know where to find information about la'oi. Does anyone have a link? It isn't listed at http://www.lojban.org/tiki/tiki-index.php?page=currently+proposed+experimental+cmavo

>> No.884

I don't think so, because "la'oi .noi." would grab ".noi." as the name, an it is always allowed to pause between any two words.

"la'oi" was proposed as a cmavo that takes whatever single (even non-lojban) word that follows, between two pauses, as a name. A sort of single word "la'o zoi .... zoi".

("Scottish-Fold" could only be allowed if you don't pause in between.)

The dot is just the written representation of a pause (or a glottal stop). It is always permissible to pause between any two words, so it is permissible to pause between "la'oi" and "noi". "la'oi noi" and "la'oi .noi." can be pronounced exactly the same way.
